Oklahoma has most certainly endured more than its share of disasters that have happened in the past several years, and because of one of these disasters, it has birthed Oklahoma City, Oklahoma’s National Memorial and Museum. It is one of the states largest attractions that are visited from many people all around the world.
The horrendous bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building that occurred on April 19, 1995, was most definitely one of the most horrific events this state has suffered. 168 men, women, and children were killed, and another 800 people were injured, in the largest terrorist attack against our own American soil. At this historic Memorial and Museum, it offers memories of 9:02am on that very day, a moment frozen in time. There are beautifully lit chairs standing outside the Memorial that honor the memory of each person that lost their life. Large portions of walls are encased in glass for visitors to see the true destruction that the explosions of the attack caused.
Turner Falls is an area of beautiful Oklahoma land that offers a endless supply of fun in the water, for the entire family. The mountainous area of Turner Falls is quite different from the view you will see from most of the other terrain of the flatlands found in Oklahoma. The Governor’s Mansion that is located near downtown Oklahoma City is a spectacular sight that all age groups will enjoy visiting. Many people enjoy the guided tours of walking through the elegance seen in this beautiful Dutch Colonial mansion.
